Frugal Challenge Week 3
In this Week 3 of the Frugal Series Challenge, you’re going to learn how to extend the lifespan of an item you’re using. Think of ways to extend its use.
In this example, I have several pencils that’ve gotten too short to be used on their own. We use cello tape to tape them up back-to-back and voila, we can use them again! Don’t believe me, look below.
In another example, Mr MMT’s organization discarded this set of 2-tier document letter tray because one of the support was missing.
You guessed it! We used one of our trusty back-to-back pencils as a support.
It’s now been rescued and it keeps my desk tidy too. Best of all, it we don’t have to spend any money.
So, your little homework for this week is to find an item that you would normally have thrown out. Instead of trashing it, think of how you can fashion another use for it.
If you can’t think of one now, it’s alright. Just keep this tip in mind any time you’re about to throw something out.
